About The Art of Glass

David Cross began work as an apprenticeship with a well known Lancaster stained glass window firm called Abbot & Co who had an excellent reputation for design, craftsmanship, quality and service. David eventually became the sole artist, designer and painter for the company.
After 12 years he decided to start up work on his own and has been very successful. The Art of Glass now has 20 years experience with all aspects of stained glass and leaded windows. Each window is individually designed in conjunction with the clients requirements

Stained Glass Restoration

The basic methods of stained glass construction have remained the same over the years which is an advantage when the need for restoration arises. Unfortunately, restoration is always required because of the effect of rain and wind on both the lead and glass.
I am fully equipped to carry out a full service of restoration whether it is caused by ravages of time or by hazards of various kinds. This includes removal and reinstallation. We are happy to undertake stained glass renovation and leaded light work in the north west, lancashire and nationally troughout the UK
